Latest work on the farm
1st March 2013
At last some dry weather and sunshine.
The farm will be coming to life again as we will get on with nurturing the wheat with some nutrients as well as rolling it to help with the tillering. More importantly it is now that the seed beds need to be prepared for our carrot crop which hopefully will be in shortly. This year our variety is called ‘Norwich’ and provided all goes to plan the crop will be ready for lifting in August whence it is transported to the packing station and on to the shop shelves. Cropping at about 35tons to the acre we should produce about 1000 tons. Bed and Breakfast guests are welcome to look at all aspects of the agricultural operation.
