Shrewsbury B&B

Set in a bow of the River Severn, the Isle Estate is a character-filled Shrewsbury B&B steeped in history.

The bedrooms in this period country house are furnished with antiques and all the mod cons needed. Breakfast is served in the oak-panelled dining room surrounded by oil paintings of ancestors who have lived in there since 1450. A sitting room with an open fire is reserved for guests to enjoy their evenings.

Nature lovers will find a wealth of wildlife with scenic walks along the River Severn or around the 17 acre lake behind the house. Carp fishing on the lake and river is also available for guests by prior arrangement.

The equestrian facilities are some of the best in Shropshire. Guests can bring their own horses and enjoy use of the extensive cross-country course and farm ride or enjoy training in the arena.

The rooms all contain luxurious soft furnishings, antiques, top quality mattresses and crisp white bed lined to make your stay at The Isle memorable. The views out of our front bedrooms look over the park. The back of the house looks out over the lake.

Cross country hire

Guests staying at our Shropshire B&B can use our farm ride at no extra charge. Enjoy riding around the Estate (nearly 1000 acres) inside the bow of the River Severn and school over our 80+ purpose built fences, including water fence, ditches and hedges.
Lessons & livery

Swimming pool

When the weather is fine guests can relax by our outdoor heated swimming pool in the walled garden. A small marquee is next to it with tables, chairs and barbeque should guests want to eat or cook “al fresco” on warm summer evenings.

Four miles from Shrewsbury, Shropshire and only short drive from Shropshire’s World Heritage site, Ironbridge, there is plenty to do for everyone. David Austin Roses, RAF Cosford Air Museum, Attingham Park and Powis Castle are a short distance away.

"A beautiful, historical, family house in a lovely setting; our welcoming hosts could not have taken more trouble to give us a delightful stay. Our bedroom with en suite luxurious bathroom was superbly comfortable. Breakfast was generously proportioned and delicious. One of our best ever B&B experiences."

We stayed for my mom's 80th birthday and she absolutely loved it! The grounds are vast and you will meet peacocks..chickens..sheep..horses..and the most beautiful ginger cat. George (he very nearly went in my bag😄).. Ros and Edward are most charming..friendly..down to earth people and there is nothing they won't do for you. The fire was lit for us in the sitting room..information about the house..the grounds..Edward even gave us a map and pointed out points of interest in Shrewsbury..even the best coffee shop! It was so so quiet and peaceful..all you could hear were the birds first thing ..just beautiful."
