Shearing The Isle Estate Sheep
1st June 2013
The sun has been out for a whole two days so summer must be here!
Anyhow working on this assumption it is time to peel of some winter woollies and here Steve and Aled are doing just this for two of our resident ewes who belong to Andrew Cordingly and graze the flood meadows round The Estate. Wool is selling for about £1 / kg at present and Andy’s pedigree Poll Dorset lambs will in time be found on the shelves of Waitrose. In the meantime they are growing contentedly in fields which are all part our environmental stewardship which not only nurture excellent livestock but also due to the practices in place are a haven for wildlife.
