An unforgettable stay, can't wait to go back!

After a disastrous journey from Hamburg to Manchester and delay after delay we were greeted with a wonderful warm welcome from Edward as we arrived. He took care of our every need from a good cuppa on arrival, reserving us a table at a wonderful pub and a guided tour of the house, grounds and lake. We had lovely guests with us and a scrumptious breakfast with a breakfast fit for a king and queen! We discovered lots about the house, its history, the surrounding area and rare finds during a trip with the metal detector. Edward is a walking lexicon! We had a beautiful walk around the lake and visited the stunning horses. A truly unforgettable (if unfortunately very short) trip and can't wait to return. Thank you Edward and Ros.

Probably the best B&B in the country

We couldn't wait to visit the Isle Estate B&B again! This was our second visit and this time we were a party of five adults in three rooms.
From the moment we arrived Edward and Ros, and all the dogs and cats, gave us a tremendous welcome (we felt like old friends!) and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. From finding us sherry glasses and nibbles - to serving up the most delicious dinner (including hand-picked vegetables, fruit, and eggs from the estate) in the grand oak-paneled dining room - to luxuriously comfy beds with lovely crisp bed linen. The spectacular views from all bedrooms are to die for - lake, trees, horses, and sheep, and a hidden heated swimming pool also makes a nice surprise.
In the morning we also enjoyed a 3-4 mile walk around the lake, a swim in the pool, and great conversations with Edward ... not to mention the most exceptional breakfast, that few hotels or B&Bs could rival.
Sorry if this sounds gushy ... but we will definitely be trying to find an excuse to go back for the third time!

Super hosts great time

Ted couldnt do enough for us arrived by canoe, collected from the river and stayed in a lovely estate home. Which is not stuffy but so lovely and welcoming. Room was lovely and breakfast was great. See you soon.

Beautiful property and surroundings

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Isle Estate, this time in a different room.
Plenty of space, with a double bed and two single beds. Room was clean and comfortable with lovely views of the surrounding estate . If you like the countryside this B&B is a must.
The breakfast was fantastic, using local produce and Edward was so welcoming and helpful.
Shrewsbury is just a short drive into town for approximately £7 in a taxi. Where there are excellent pubs and restaurants.

Understated gem!

Unforeseen trip meant desperate hunt to find accommodation last minute - but from the moment I called and spoke to the owners, they couldn't have been more helpful.
A particular theme throughout our stay! Text messages before we arrived to advise how to access the property if arriving late; a welcome party when we arrived with offers of help, refreshments and a tour to ensure we were comfortable.
Located in a beautiful estate, if you love the countryside and a little slice of your own peace, then this place is phenomenal. Rustic charm you would expect to find in a historical mansion, modern amenities (WiFi, TV, etc) in the rooms, superb hearty breakfasts and enough activities to do outside to keep two young kids occupied for hours!
I could not recommend this place enough and both Edward, Ros and their family were charming. We'll definitely be coming back and bringing friends with us for a weekend getaway.

"Our stay at The Isle was a delight . Quintessentially English, a little bit eccentric and generous of their time and commitment to their guests' enjoyment and comfort Edward and Ros were the perfect hosts. All the boxes, and more, were ticked as far as the accommodation was concerned, not because they have to, but because they want to. Our room was attractive, large, clean and comfortable with an abundance of extras in the bathroom, an interesting selection of teas etc and oodles of reading material. Breakfast in the dining room surrounded by portraits of the ancestors was fun. Our first day there was warm and sunny, which transformed a pleasant walk around the estate into something quite idyllic: the wild flowers were blossoming in profusion, the birds were singing and we met not a soul in our two hours of wandering. We arrived feeling tired and jaded, and left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Thank You Edward and Ros."

"What a lovely place this is. The family could not have been more welcoming and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was lovely. The rooms were inviting. Setting was idyllic. Everything was perfect and we joyed a relaxing stay."

"If you are looking for something a little different, affordably decadent... and down a rather long track, The Isle Estate in Shrewsbury is certainly worth a visit. It's run by an absolutely charming family, who went out of their way to make us feel special. Natural hosts. Rooms were spotless, comfortable and peaceful. Coffee was excellent and breakfast was delicious. Can't comment on dinner as we ate out in town. Sadly only stayed for one night, but will wrack brain to think of an excuse to book in again. A fabulous and un-expected bonus on our 600 mile road trip. 5 star"

"We have just returned from a three night stay at The Isle. What a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Edward and Ros are the perfect hosts, so friendly and gave us such a warm welcome. Our room, the Blue room was spacious with lovely views from the window seats. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Edward shared the history of the Isle and took the time to show us around, very interesting. He suggested places to visit and I spent a lovely day visiting the aqueduct, canal and Llangollen. This has to be our favourite B and B and we can't wait to return!"

"We have just had the real pleasure of a four night stay at this splendid home from home. I cannot praise Ros and Edward enough for their warm welcome and unending efforts to make our stay nothing but a pleasure. A lovely couple and, indeed, a lovely family. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits served in the lounge whilst Edward did his best to book us in. This in itself was a great event as he is an enthusiastic conversationalist and, as I too love a natter, the booking in went frequently astray!! Introductions were made to family and pets and life stories exchanged. We stayed in the pink room which was charming, warm, comfortable and spacious . Fresh milk was supplied daily and they even found space in the fridge to chill our wine for us. Ours was mostly a walking holiday. Ros and Edward have great local knowledge and accompanied their suggestions with maps and refreshment recommendations. We enjoyed meeting the horses stabled on the estate, and the warm and friendly attitude of everyone associated with the estate was just lovely. A tour of the estate was on offer, time pressed on so we will take up this offer on our next visit. Breakfast provided an extensive choice of local, quality produce.... and more welcome conversation. At night the estate is quiet and restful. An alarm is needed or else you run the risk of not getting up! Every day here was a pleasure. Ros and Edward have the gift of making you feel like a family friend, not a paying guest. Every day was a treat and we will visit again. Thank You."
